Their lamp design was visually appealing to me and I wanted to try recreating it as a gift. The design is soft, light and whimsical. It added a level of character to an otherwise mundane object.

 

Using SolidWorks software, I created a model of the parts to get an effective understanding of the scale. I wanted it to be small enough to fit on a desk but also large enough to house an readily-available light bulb. I used a panel-mounted light housing with a small, warm light bulb. 

I used yellow poplar for the body and legs and screwed the legs to the body in order to give the lamp a level of adjustment and articulation.
